I have also worked in a variety of professional settings including the HM Prison service. Alongside working with organisations I run a private practice.

Client testimonials

“Jo’s patience and skills are phenomenal and she truly changed all our lives.”

"I contacted Jo at the Eyris practice at a very low point regarding my teenage daughter and her mental health. Camhs were incredibly slow and just didn't have the capacity to help, while my daughter couldn't attend school, couldn't leave the house and was suicidal. Jo accepted my daughter as a client immediately, she understood the urgency and tailored her service to meet my daughters needs. initially sessions took place online and as progress was made and a trusting bond was formed, sessions moved to in person. Over the course of approx 8 months, the transformation has been more than I could have ever hoped for. Jo’s patience and skills are phenomenal and she truly changed all our lives. My daughter now has the ability to challenge any dark days, which are very rare now. She knows she has a future and she is exited for it. she is studying and working, doing tasks which were impossible a year ago. She has the confidence to speak out and ask for help if she needs it now, whereas previously she would completely withdraw and stop eating. Jo made her feel held and supported as she explored and improved more, Jo genuinely cares, and she promoted excellent communication between all parties involved, including Camhs, which was such a help for me. I am so thankful for Jo at Eyris Practice."
Client testimonial

"I experienced how my life has been gradually transformed"

“Jo worked with me for over 2 years, and in that time I experienced how my life has been gradually transformed, from the person I was ( no confidence, depressed and suffering from PTSD) to a person who can work again, be happy and live my life, free of my symptoms and my trauma. Jo’s patience and skills and understanding make her in my view an excellent therapist, and I am extremely grateful for what she has done to help me. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist.”
Client testimonial

"Jo is one of the warmest, safest and most capable therapists you could ever have."

“Jo has been my manager for 2 years. Her work rehabilitating some of the most challenging patients for the last 22 years is inspirational and highly respected by her peers. Jo is one of the warmest, safest and most capable therapists you could ever have.”

Common questions

How do I know whether working online or in-person is better for me?

You may decide to try both and decide for yourself, and we can work both ways, or a mixture of the two. Each individual tends to find their own preference with this, and both in my experience are equally effective. It is about arriving at the best decision for you

Can I decide to end the therapy if I don’t find it helpful at any stage?

Yes, of course. We agree on a number of initial sessions together, and as part of that process you may decide afterwards that  I am not the right therapist  for you. Additionally, at any point you can decide to end our work together

How do I know which type of therapy is the best approach for me?

We will talk through this together during our initial meeting, and hopefully arrive at a decision we both agree on, informed by your needs and what you are most comfortable with

How long is the therapy / treatment going to take for me?

Each individual is different in this respect, and so the time you may need in therapy will be explored together during our initial sessions, and hopefully agreed upon together, collaboratively
